BIPOC affirming therapy for race, culture, and lived context.
We work with the realities of race, culture, belonging, and the stress of being read through other people’s assumptions. You can speak plainly about what you carry without having to make it palatable first.
What people bring us.
Some people come in feeling worn down by being misunderstood at work, in family life, or in wider culture. Others are holding family pressure, code switching, grief, anger, or the quiet exhaustion of always being aware of how they are seen. For many, it is important that therapy leaves room for lived experience rather than flattening it.
- I am tired of having to explain basic things.
- I feel different in every room I enter.
- I carry my family’s expectations and my own.
- I want to talk about how racism has impacted my mental health.
We do not separate your pain from the context you live in.
How we work with it.
We pay attention to the layers around your experience, including the experience of discrimination, culture, community, and the pressure to adapt. The work may include how you handle conflict, how you care for yourself under scrutiny, or how you make sense of being in spaces that do not fully reflect you.
We follow your lead on what needs language and what needs space.
Questions people ask.
Q. Do I have to focus on race in every session?
No. We follow what feels most relevant to you. If race, culture, or belonging shapes the issue, we make room for that too.
Q. Can I talk about family and cultural expectations here?
Yes. Family pressure, loyalty, and conflict often belong in this work.
Q. What if I am not sure my previous therapy was culturally sensitive?
We acknowledge our system itself can be harmful. You can bring that uncertainty in. We can talk about what felt missing or off before and what you want now in a therapeutic experience.
Q. Is this therapy only for people dealing with discrimination?
No. People come with a wide range of concerns, and context matters even when the immediate issue is something else. We see all facets of identity is integral to holistic work.
